Poetry

Art that Speaks to My Heart

Some art touches me deeply. It’s a rational world we live in. Let’s align our heads with our hearts again…

The hare. Photo by Vincent van Zalinge on Unsplash

This short film spoke to me this morning.

Father and Daughter

The river takes you downstream

Further and further

Faster and faster

My little feet running

Stumbling

I can’t keep up.

The tiniest blade of grass is an obstacle

Stamping my feet

Shouting profanities

I can’t keep up!

Headlights blind the fast hare

Dead silent

A calm breeze spreads in my belly

You hear me, dad

I took your storytelling talent

And made it my own

Your river girl, always

Swirling and speeding

Dancing on water

The calm has arrived

I can keep up.
