Arrangements
The Delusion of Time

Time and Delusion will cease as one
They are siblings, of course, Time and Delusion. Born of the same parents. Twins, I’d say. Or twinner than twins: the same.
And on the same mission: to keep us fooled; and on this mission each has the other’s back. Time telling Delusion, “You make them think I am real, and I’ll make them think you are real.”
Delusion answering Time: “You make them think I am real, and I’ll make them think you are real.”
“Deal,” says Time.
“Deal,” says Delusion.
We’re not supposed to know about this agreement, this hidden deceitful arrangement. Same as we are not supposed to know about the agreement, the hidden deceitful arrangement between the fast food and health care industries.
Says Health Care to Fast Food: “You keep sending them to us as patients and we’ll keep telling them you’re good for them.”
Says Fast Food to Health Care: “As long as you tell them we’re good for them, we’ll keep sending them to you as patients.”
“Win-win,” says Health Care.
“Win-win,” says Fast Food.
And the sad truth is that ignorant man — who seems to enjoy his dark ignorance, who in fact wallows in it — lives for his delusions, fast food especially.
