Aren’t We Fantastic Ones? — Part I

“Flint & Steel Two-Part Writing Challenge”

“Asphalt roads?! How are we going to find them?”

“Because we can’t stay here, we have to.”

“Caution, caution, caution. What’s that sound?”

“Dangling branches.”

“Exhausted my mind just now. Phew.”

“Fantasy beasts, aren’t we? Oh, excuse me, I mean, fantastic beasts.”

“Gosh, we aren’t that big. We are fantastic insects.”

“Hahaha, that’s right.”

“Isn’t that a hole?”

“Joking, right? You are much tinier than I am. I can’t get through there.”

“Kidding, am I? NO!! You have to try.”

“Look at how I twist my body and get through it, okay?”

“My word, you can dig me out afterward.”

“Nonsense, I won’t leave you here!”

“Oh, my, you are pushy.”

“Pardon! I’m with these small hands and a soft and tiny body. How are you expect me to dig if everything falls down? Anyways, let’s do it!”

“Question! What if I stack in the middle?”

“Rethink about it. Seriously, stop worrying! You’re going to die if you stay here!”

“Step in, and turn, right?”

“Turn your belly up and down again to claw your way out.”

“Useful tips! Thanks, young man!”

Vicarious cages were kicked open, and both moved toward the small hole.

“We will get out!”

“X mark? What is this?”

“Yields nothing only to confuse. This little paper, let me tear this off. And I will go first.”

“Zee, what’s that sound from the above? Hey, why did you turn your body upside down here? What happened!? Are you okay?”
