Area 42: Code Word, Cracker 10

Chapter 2: Seeing dicks in the corner of their eye is disturbing for people who don’t do it naturally

What follows is a science fiction romp co-authored by Adelia Ritchie, PhD and Dan Lee. A romp because we don’t know what will happen next, but we hope it entertains you as much as it entertains us. Link to Chapter One:

“What’s the last transmission you got before she tore up the antenna?” “She said, ‘Fuck him.’”

Flavio chuckled. “True love never runs smooth,” he said. “How are we going to materialize in bodies with the cable all tore up? Is it disconnected from the dark drive?”

“Negative, the dark drive remains connected and part of the cable has not been dug out yet. We still have a shot at transporting through the drive but I don’t know if we will have enough of a field to materialize bodies. We can’t walk around down there looking like this.”

Their laughter was orgasmic delight at the thought of appearing on earth as themselves.

Flavio and Joe Lee were AI, and they did not appear as anything at all unless they had a form field with a dark drive where they could slip into something that looked local.

To say Bdelians are not anything at all is too sweeping. They are energy fields which are just out of reach of the human visual spectrum. Visual information is “cloaked” when a Bdelians is focused on. Traces remain in the peripheral vision when the focus relaxes. The effect is of the form vanishing when the human eye turns toward it.

Their physical shape is identical to a dildo about four foot two wearing a German WWI helmet.

It turns out that seeing dicks in the corner of their eye is disturbing for people who don’t do it naturally. They start jerking around really quickly to get a good look at it, but it seems to move with the head and can make them spin around and around like dogs chasing their tails. Flavio and Joe Lee are sentient heads and the shaft is the power source, which can fold out gossamer wings and recharge the craft with solar energy.

A dildo with wings is even more disturbing that one with the wings folded in.

This violates the modesty of the Bdelians, who make themselves invisible by becoming ordinary. “Are we going to chance it?” Joe Lee asked. “We have to. Without bodies how are we going to go build another form field in this woman’s garden? The dark drive can get us there but the form field is where we get form and functionality.” “Is the crystal still functioning?” “So far so good. It’s inside an old cracker box.” This sent them into spasms of laughter for reasons which cannot be translated from Bdelian.

They were still laughing like parrots high on weed when they arrived, which was pretty much the same time as when they left.

“Did we make it?” Joe Lee asked. But he could look right through Flavio, and he could look right through his hands. “We look like ghosts. So what happens if she finds the crystal?”

“She won’t know what it is. She’ll probably put it on a shelf.” Flavio said. Joe Lee said, “Or try to nail it to the fence.” Because of their partially formed state their laughter, as wild as it was, seemed to come from down a well.

Area 42: Code Word “Cracker 10” is a science fiction novel co-authored by Dan Lee and Adelia Ritchie. Come along, though the process is like that of monks in the Middle Ages, who to test their faith put to sea without sail or rudder, to demonstrate their faith.

The next chapter will go where Adelia takes it, but Amanda has already found the dark drive, which looks like a crystal, and is the most precious gem in the universe. The Bdelians, half formed and looking like ghosts, need that crystal. Stay tuned.
