Are You Writing To Make Money?

Maybe Medium Is The Solution After All.

I have to admit that I have tried quite a few side hustles up to now. Some have been time consuming. Others didn’t take up too much time and seemed like golden eggs but ended up being unrewarding.

In the past I have always worked hard, usually having two jobs. There was a period in time when I taught five days a week and worked every Saturday in a care home, for example.

Like most people, I have bills to pay and plenty of things I want to buy.

These days, though, I have my sights set on flexible working and a better work-life-balance.

Medium attracted me initially as a place to practise and hone my writing skills.

Now, I am starting to think of Medium as a significant contributor to my income.

It is still early days but I have definitely settled into this platform and even fallen in love with it.

Medium Is A Friend And A Provider

I am starting to see how writing for Medium can actually pay off.

Medium has the potential to provide a second income. As it continues to expand, the earning possibilities are breathtaking.

Reading the accounts of long standing members, I have a feeling that Medium is something to grow alongside.

I know it is a cliche but the following statement is true.

You have to be in it to win it.

Every piece of feedback and each individual clap is a back scratch. Each time an article gets added to someone’s reading list you gain a sense of pride.

Medium is a mutually supportive environment in which to write freely.

So, in short, what I am saying is to ignore all the naysayers who dabble in Medium and then run away quickly.

Give it a good go and allow time to settle in. The more you interact with this wonderful community, the more interesting it gets.

As it becomes more engaging, not only does your writing improve but you also get to learn a lot from the thousands of quality articles that crop up here daily.

Lastly, if you want to make money then Medium has so much potential. It can become something which helps to pay your bills.

Final Thoughts

The most I have earned so far is $362 in August 2023. This was during the summer when I had a little more free time than usual.

But hopefully the $140 earned in February is a sign that I am back on track after a few months where I did very little on Medium due to work pressure.
