Are you willing to lose an eye to achieve your dreams?
If not, you clearly don’t want it badly enough.
British UFC fighter, Michael Bisping lost his vision in one of his eyes in a fight and still didn’t retire.
Not only did he keep fighting, but he went on to achieve his dream and become the first-ever UFC Champion from the UK.
This level of bravery is common in combat sports like Boxing and MMA. The injuries people get in a fight and still refuse to lose are incredible. But even in this arena, losing your sight and still preserving is unique.
Surely you would quit after losing your eye, no?
Heck, I usually throw in the towel as soon as someone invites me down to the pub for a pint.
So when you complain that your Medium page hasn’t taken off after 2 months of posting, get some perspective. If you haven’t lost your vision yet, then you are clearly not working hard enough.
You should be bleeding from the eyes at the very least from staring at the screen for 24 hrs straight. Just like your boy Gary Vee advises.
In all seriousness, you might not need to go to this level of adversity. But it shows that if you keep going, even in the face of major hardship, you can reach any ambitious goal.
Bisping had never seen anyone from the UK become the champ. So he had no pioneers in front of him to look at for inspiration. But nonetheless, he believed in himself so much, that he did it anyway, with only one working eyeball.
Using Bisping as motivation, keep looking forward, even if your vision is blurry. The path may be unclear, but it doesn’t have to be.
If you can see it in your mind, you can achieve it in reality.
