Are You Ready to Start Your Novel?
Skills, insights and inspiration
I’m always surprised — and pleased — to see how many writers here are keen to share their fiction, with many of them aspiring to develop a novel.
Take Jay C Wells, for example. Jay is working on the novel Legend of the Storm Maiden, and has shared both early and updated drafts.
Then there is Bradan Writes Stories, whose work Luci’s New Hell features a fresh and fun take on Lucifer. List below, a reworked version (the older drafts can be found here).
Summer Daze has begun to share Revenge Of The Cannon Fodder Villainess over at the Fiction Writer’s Den:
Sieran Lane, meanwhile, has been sharing chapters of Anastasia the Nonbinary Dragon here on Medium in ‘web-novel’ format. He’s up to chapter 19 at the last count!
And what about you? Have you dabbled in fiction, with a dream of becoming a novelist nestled deep in your heart?
And if so, what would it take for you to achieve that goal? Time? Motivation? Feedback? A spark of inspiration? Maybe the forthcoming NaNoWriMo will provide the focus that you need.
If you have already written a novel, did sharing drafts on sites like this (or Royal Road, or similar) play a role? And do you have a follow-up planned?
If you have a novel (or the start of one) on Medium, feel free to share your first chapter, list or contents page in the comments!
Hopefully we can support each other, and build this writing community.
