Are You Overwhelmed By Your Digital Tasks And Living In Tasks Chaos?

Are you doing a lot but not getting results? I have a solution for streamlining the process

If you are a new writer or a new content creator, every day is like a new challenge and new learning. It is fun at times but overwhelming too. When you are new, one day you are working on collecting ideas, the other day you think your social media presence is also important so you start posting on different platforms. The next day you feel that you are missing out on writing or content creation so you jump into it. The other day you read a post about, ‘why building an email list is important?’ so you start figuring out software to build your list.

Being a writer/content creator is not an easy task. Especially, when you are new, you think that you are working but as you can see you are just juggling between the task and figuring out new things that have to be done (but not actually working). As you are new and gathering the required knowledge, chances are high that you get swayed away by new trends and new opportunities. Even experienced writers/creators fall in these overwhelming confused situations.

When I started my writing journey in 2021, I was also there overwhelmed and confused with no one to guide me. One day I was struggling to collect ideas, the other day I was restlessly posting on different social media platforms, and the other day I might have been so overwhelmed by too much work and zero progress that I was not working at all.

Ask Yourself This Question

Only one thing that helped me overcome my confusion and let me focus on my journey is, the question I asked myself i.e. ‘What do I want?’. Though this question looks so simple but has worked wonders for me in my journey.

When I asked myself this question, What changed?

When I asked myself this question, things changed. The more I asked this question to myself, the more it made my path clear. For example, earlier in my journey, I used to follow some book bloggers on Instagram and used to think I could also make videos about books and post them. But anything takes time and consistency to get traction. After some days of doing it, it felt like a task to me as I never wanted that for myself.

But when I asked myself, ‘What do I want?’ I realized that this task was not helping me reach my destination. It is not even on my path. So I stopped doing it.

In fact, whenever I think of starting something new (inspired by others in the digital world), before starting it, I ask myself these questions, ‘What do I want?’ and ‘Is this task aligned with what I want?’. If the answer is NO then I won’t do it.

This question saved me from hours of unnecessary work and wasting my precious time, only to realize later that it was not the task I should be working on.

Not only is the question important but clarity is also important

One more thing that has helped me along with this question is writing down what I want. Yes, writing down on paper, what I want, has brought me so much clarity, since just knowing ‘what I want’ is not enough. Life happens and in daily routine and so many things racing for our attention, we tend to forget things so easily.

When I write things down, I can keep reviewing them daily. It helps me remind myself what is important and what is aligned with my path. This way distractions are automatically removed from my focus and time.

After that, I plan my tasks and track them daily to maintain consistency. This way every day I reach little by little to ‘What I want?’. I have made 5 templates (in simple word documents) to make this task easy for you. In these templates you can fill, what you want to achieve, what are the tasks to be done for that, how to plan them and how to track them.

You can download these templates and use it for your task management (it is FREE for Limited Time). Click here to download the templates (Task Planner & Consistency Journal).
