Your Golden Key for Successful Personal Transformation Now
Are You Going for the Gold?
Think about the word gold.
We recognize its value in gold ingots, gold coins, gold jewelry and more.
Many of us remember the Golden Girls which was a popular sitcom.
We use the expression you’re golden as a way of saying well done or it’s all good.
We think of the Olympics and other competitions where the winner is awarded the gold medal.
Think For a Moment About Gold
Long before we see a gold medal, a golden ingot or a stunning piece of gold jewelry it starts in a mine.
Rock containing gold ore is chipped away from a rock wall or a rock boulder. That piece of rock is then transported out of the mine.
It goes through a smelting process for the pure gold to be extracted. This is a process that involves high temperatures, high pressure and various chemicals that are necessary to break down the ore and free the gold.
Is this reminding you a bit of what is required in the process of embracing painful life lessons that ultimately lead to successful personal transformation?
Adversity in life is very much like our personal smelting process.
When adversity strikes do you cower in the face of it? How do you respond to the pressure?
The golden ore would never have the opportunity to be crafted into a thing of beauty without enduring the smelting process first.
Neither will you be crafted into a thing of beauty without enduring your personal smelting process.
There is a Danish Proverb that says:
“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials”
Whether it is gold or a precious gemstone it is only having experienced adversity that its beauty is revealed. And so it is with us.
The Golden Key
Look at these keys.
They are different sizes and different shapes.
But they are all golden.
We are different sizes and different shapes. Our backgrounds and perspectives are different.
Yet we each have golden keys. Just as there are differences in us there will be differences in our keys.
Perhaps we have to heal from childhood abuse or other trauma.
Perhaps we need to believe we are worthy and deserving of the good things in life.
Perhaps we need to believe we have the courage to step into the unknown.
Perhaps we need to know we have a treasure trove of undiscovered capability.
Perhaps we need to mine the dreams buried deep within our heart.
Each of these require a different key. A golden key.
Somewhere within you, your personal golden keys are buried. Your challenge is to learn how to access them and then do so.
You have at least one but in all probability you have several golden keys. When you unearth the first one and use it, you will find that it is your key to begin the process of successful personal transformation.
As you use each key in your personal collection you will find the process accelerating.
When you use your golden keys to unlock the gates holding you back it is like the moment the caterpillar leaves the chrysalis and emerges as a butterfly. It will take it a bit of time to learn to fly but its transformation is readily apparent and so it is with you.
Becoming Golden
As the gold is refined
It may become a gold ingot.
It may become a gold coin.
It may become a gold medal.
It may become a piece of gold jewelry.
It may become a piece of golden art.
Regardless of the form it takes … it is pure and precious gold.
Regardless of its form, it is making a statement that it is something of superior value.
It is something of intrinsic value.
You are no different.
You are of superior value.
When you challenge yourself to do your best and reach new milestones you are going for the gold just as assuredly as an Olympic athlete goes for a gold medal.
Go for the gold in all that you do and stand proudly atop your figurative podium when you know you have done your best.
Even gold medal winning figure skaters and gymnasts rarely score a perfect 10.
That does not stop them from standing proudly atop the podium clutching their gold medal.
You deserve no less.
How would life be different if you were to consistently go for the gold and reward yourself for standing atop the winner’s podium every time you have done your best?
