Are You Getting Better Every Day? The Ultimate Self-Improvement Challenge!
It’s easier than you may think
What’s one thing you did today that made you better than you were when you went to sleep last night?
Personally, I wrote two articles for Medium, hit a new personal record for most views of my articles in a single day, trained new team members at work, and read up on the OpenAI news stories.
Here’s how I interpret each of these as making myself better today:
- Medium article writing: another day of dedication towards improving my writing and growing with this community
- Article view count: proof that consistency and quality writing pays off
- Training new team members: there’s no more noble act than to share knowledge, educate, and inspire others
- OpenAI reading: it’s critical to stay current on news and events that can impact your daily life
So take time to reflect, what did you do today that made yourself even a little bit better, wiser, stronger?
- You got out of bed and fought one more day?
- You gave your kids a hug, reminding them that you love them?
- You read a few pages on a topic that interests you or better yet, a topic that you don’t know much about?
- You fought for what was right or performed a selfless act to help someone else?
Becoming just a little better than you were yesterday, does not have to be any life changing moves.
Even just showing up, being your best self, and giving a tough day your best shot is a pretty solid sign you’re on the right track.
I encourage you to try the following every night before you go to bed for at least the next week and let me know how you feel after:
Close your eyes, reflect on your day, and ask yourself:
What are three actions you took today that made you just a little bit better than you were yesterday?
