Are You Following Your Destiny?
Today’s episode of 90 days of certainty training, is to follow your destiny.
I was 11 years old I was hooked on that sound … the trombone of the great Glenn Miller.
From that moment all I wanted to do was play the trombone.
Then I had this mad idea that I’d become a teacher. It seemed such a great idea at the time and yet two years later I realised that the life of academia wasn’t for me.
I concentrated on the one thing that I loved which was playing music.
I didn’t know it at the time what my destiny was, and it would take 50 years for me to truly discover what it is and to live it out.
After leaving school, I spent 10 years in the army playing music and then around 30 years working in corporate IT and delivering large IT projects — life was good; however, I wasn’t fulfilling my destiny.
One thing I knew if my assignments didn’t allow me be on stage, training or presenting, I was unhappy.
I’d discovered a passion for presenting, speaking, and training — it must have been the performer in me.
Much later, I discovered Numerology and from that, my destiny.
Would you believe it, my destiny has always been to research and teach and that’s what I do now? I run NLP practitioner training and other courses to business owners.
So, what is destiny?
It’s what you were born into this life to achieve.
Destiny is what do you are born with.
You can’t pick your destiny.
Your destiny came into this world with you.
You may have chosen to become a teacher, an accountant, a lawyer, a footballer, and the big question is are you fulfilling your destiny in doing so?
Of course, you may not realise what your destiny is, or you may be unaware that there is a conflict between your destiny and your chosen career. The two are very different.
That conflict may lie dormant for the whole of your life, or it may raise its head in some sort of midlife crisis.
