We all experience moments in our lives when there seems to be zero momentum. When there is nothing to propel us from point A to point B, we feel stuck in life and not sure what to do to change things.

If find yourself amongst the stuck, here are 5 things to do in order to get your life back on track and moving once again in the right direction!

Be objective about your life — This is important because there is no one in this world who is going to be a worse critic of you than yourself. Sometimes we need resting periods in our lives. Perhaps you are not as stuck as you think you are and you are just being hard on yourself. Try stepping back and being objective about your life. What would you think of you if you were someone else looking in?

Change your perception — This is similar to being objective about your life. Remember what Shakespeare said? “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” Sometimes a simple change in perspective is all that is needed in order to become unstuck in your life. There is a choice to let go of the notion that you are stuck and start moving again.

Ask yourself how you got stuck in the first place — Although, we are the creator of own destinies, there are true moments in life when life holds you back. It seems that no matter what you do, things just don’t work out for you. Also known as cosmic misalignment, this can difficult. At this point in your life, the best thing to do is look back and find the exact moment your life went off course. If you can find the misalignment, you can get back on course. Ask yourself the following questions: did you make a wrong decision you are not aware of that you need to learn from in order to become a better person in your life? Do you have certain emotions, perhaps you need to grieve or make peace with someone in your life, that is the root emotional block of you moving on in your life?

Make a plan to dig yourself out — Once you have identified what has gotten you into a place that you feel stuck in your life, then you can begin to dig yourself out. You can accomplish that by going back to the root cause and doing the work to repair the damage that set you off course, to begin with.

Stop being in denial and blaming others for your choices — Often times people who are stuck in life like to blame other things or people. They look at themselves as the victims of their life rather than the cause. You may tell yourself such things as, “If it wasn’t for cause A, I would never be in situation B.” It’s time to stop being in denial and realize that even though bad things have happened, those bad things are no longer in control of your life. Only you can change your life at this point.

Sending much love your way as you learn to open your heart space for the most important person in your life. YOU!
