Summary

The website content discusses the impact of fear on society and individuals, particularly in the context of recent global events, and questions whether the perpetuation of fear may be intentional.

Abstract

The article titled "Are You Being Scared On Purpose?" delves into the pervasive nature of fear in society, exacerbated by the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, subsequent social unrest, and international conflicts such as the war between Russia and Ukraine. It highlights how fear can lead to irrational decision-making and details the potential long-term physical and emotional health effects of chronic fear, including immune system dysfunction, sleep disturbances, and mood disorders. The piece also raises concerns about the possibility that leaders may be intentionally stoking fear for ulterior motives, given the observed outcomes that seem to worsen societal issues rather than resolve them.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that the fear surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has been intensified by the media and government actions, leading to a state of societal panic.
  • There is a belief that the government's responses to crises, such as lockdowns and other restrictive measures, have had unintended negative consequences, adding to the public's anxiety.
  • The article implies that the constant state of fear is not merely a byproduct of circumstances but may be a result of deliberate actions by those in power, as evidenced by what is perceived as counterproductive leadership decisions.
  • It is proposed that the long-term effects of chronic fear can be severe, affecting physical health by potentially leading to conditions like migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and asthma, and emotionally by causing dissociation, learned helplessness, and phobic anxiety.

Or are you just Paranoid?

Fear all around us. What to do?

We fear things in proportion to our ignorance of them.

Christian Nestell Bovee

Could it be fear prevents us from thinking clearly?

The emotional panic that accompanies fear actually shuts down the prefrontal cortex, or the rational thinking part, of our brains. In other words, when we are consumed by fear, we stop thinking.

What’s been happening all around the world today has put many people in a state of fear. Over the past 3 years, all of society was awakened to a fear we haven’t seen in 100 years. The corvid virus spread around the world and with it an ever-looming fear.

Fear of death and illness.

In reaction, governments acted quickly to address the problem. Because of the unknown nature of this virus, all the health experts were brought in to help.

The very nature of this virus and its mysterious behavior add to the fear building up. The officials jumped into action taking as many precautions as they could come up with.

Is it me, are you feeling it too?

The Fear Only Intensified with the daily news.

The proactive action was about to bring with them many unpleasant consequences. These consequences only added to the fear growing within society.

Starting with the evasive actions taken by the government. The whole country was shut down. People were to remain in quartine for at least 15 days to help stop the spread. This only again adds to the fear and anxiety.

Social unrest grew after the George Floyd killing. Roiets developed all across the nation. Cities being set afire, violence erupting everywhere. Food, fuel, and household necessities became scarce due to the shutdown.

No, it didn’t stop yet.

The news keeps getting worse every day. A war has broken out between Russia and Ukraine. All options to end the violence could bring the world to total war. With this comes the never-ending threat of a nuclear conflict.

Time to talk about how fear is affecting individuals and society.

What will be the long-term effects on us?

Turned to google. What are the long-term effects of fear on humans, the body, and the mind?

The potential effects of chronic fear on physical health include

Headaches, turning into migraines, muscle aches turning into fibromyalgia, body aches turning into chronic pain, and difficulty breathing turning into asthma, said Moller.Nov 11, 2017

In this article, Moller explains in detail what aspects chronic fear has on human health, both physical and mental. In this article, she outlines the 3 phases of fear.

  1. Alarm:
  2. Resistance:
  3. Exhaustion:

She then outlined the potential consequences of fear on overall physical, emotional, environmental, and spiritual health. Immune system dysfunction

  • Endocrine system dysfunction
  • Autonomic nervous system alterations
  • Sleep/wake cycle disruption
  • Eating disorders
  • Alterations, in the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis

The potential effects of chronic fear on physical health include

  • headaches turning into migraines
  • muscle aches turning into fibromyalgia, body aches to turn into chronic pain
  • difficulty breathing turning into asthma

The potential effects of chronic fear on emotional health include:

  • Dissociation from self
  • Unable to have loving feelings
  • Learned helplessness
  • Phobic anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Obsessive-compulsive thoughts

The potential consequences of chronic fear on environmental health include:

  • Continued living in fear-generating situations due to uncertainty of moving out and unknown associated dangers
  • Not able to find safe housing
  • Afraid to leave home because of paranoia

The potential consequences of chronic fear on spiritual health:

  • Bitterness/fear toward God or others
  • Confusion/disgust with God or religion
  • Loss of trust in God and/or clergy
  • Waiting for God to fix it
  • Despair related to a perceived loss of spirituality

Lastly, Moller explained that fear affects the ability to learn.

“The brain’s capacity to retrieve previous learning is dependent on specific chemical states. “Chemical alterations can distort the perception of sensory information thus distorting storage,” said Moller.

When the brain is hyper-aroused, storage may be incomplete and new information will be stored in nonverbal memory, said Moller. This distorts the storage of sensory input and the retrieval of information will be affected.

We all realize living in a constant state of fear could not be good. To see how much it has an effect on us is concerning. The question itself leads us to even more fears. The question that keeps going through my head is something more going on here?

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.

H. P. Lovecraft

Are you being scared on purpose?

You can’t help but think, could this be happening on purpose?

When we see the irrational reaction our deceitful leaders are handling this how could you not. It seems as if everything they are doing is making things worse.

Why? Could there be something more going on here than we know? With the way, these problems are mounting our leaders don’t seem to be too anxious to set things right.

All we seem to get as answers are lies, deception, and secrecy. Can anyone help but be suspicious?
