Are You About To Give Up On Writing?

If you give up, then writing isn’t for you.

…kill yourself, you suck anyways…

Let me start by saying, I struggle every day with wanting just to throw my laptop full speed at my wall. Like, on repeat until it sues.

Writing is easy if you’re a writer! They say.

The actual process of typing words is easy, but sometimes coming up with ideas, and conveying them on paper — the way they look in your mind, is hard. The motivation can be hard, picking the right photo, all the way to the white space (I still don’t even know what that means, but I see it a lot.) Hell, I had to Google where to place commas correctly! I’m sure while you’re reading this (if you could even get this far), You see lots of grammatical errors. However, I won’t give up.

I have a story to tell, and if I have to write 1,000 mediocre articles in the bathtub (you should try that.) I will. Because it’s my passion. It’s something I’m constantly trying to improve, by reading, writing more, engaging in other work, anything I can do. I even have that word a day app.

How I spark my creativity

I’ve been told I ”do too much” when I write, I like words, I love using my imagination.

Try some fun exercises, use your imagination!

Instead of: ”That Diamond looks really nice on that black backdrop”

I’d say: ” The diamonds slept on the black cloth, elegantly making themselves known, like stars blazing in the night sky.”

The word game!

Sometimes I like to open my dictionary and play the, whatever you land on, you got to use it! Game.

Say you pick the words:

Apple, bookcase, and hmm…magic!

Can you create a sentence from those words?

I love words. I love creating a feeling of awe. However, I’ve gotten hateful messages. I’ve contemplated killing my creativity and just writing what other people write so I can get more views.

Your writing sucks, kill yourself.

Go back to school.

…just give up…

I say, bite a big ole piece of poo! Whatever you write, you write! You are a writer!

Here are some writers’ that have helped my blogging journey. Maybe they will help you too!

Zoe Yu

Sinem Günel

Adrian Drew

Mike Martin

Sumit Garg

There are many more. However, these are especially motivational.

Don’t be overwhelmed with what others are doing!

After my first five articles, I got super impatient, reading headlines like, ” how to make $500 or ”my first $1,000 here’s how”

It was stressing me out; I want that too, I want to be good enough to get traffic. Do you know what I got? Look below.

Yep. $2.61 cents!!! Don’t get me wrong; I pranced around the house proud of my brand new 2/2$ pack of Kingsize Skittles. But I still felt inferior. And that’s ok, because I am. I don’t have the knowledge or experience. But I have the drive. And if that’s what you have, then that’s all you need. Because you are a writer. You will get where you need to be when you need to.

Don’t…give…up…

“The secret of our success is that we never, never give up.” — Wilma Mankiller
