Are We Just Petals Of A Flower Called Earth?

We can learn a lot from the things we all admire so much about Her.

Think of a flower. Think of a flower with the most immaculate radiance. A flower with the most satisfying array of colors. The aroma, puzzling yet, warm and sensational. The petals on close examination are of all the textures you can imagine, combined. From every angle, She is just as stunning. Each POV illustrates equal eloquence. Though she is only here for a season, she smiles as though she will live forever. What is time? When her beauty surpasses all thoughts and understanding?

Her presence is a wonder to all those who hover above. She shows no sign of longing or worry. She is only concerned with the purpose for which she came into being. To inspire. To give joy. To teach humility and patience. She doesn't fear death. Though she has seen many of Her kind willfully diffuse throughout space and time. She radiates an energy that is breath-taking. If you stare at her long enough, you will be hypnotized by her essence. Dazed with the knowledge of Her true nature. Her true purpose.

I am happy to be an earthling. It’s a beautiful thing. We were all chosen to be. To radiate her beauty. To show her smile. To show her texture and her strength. If you could smell everything all at once, that would be her essence. Her thorns are many, including me and you. Her friends are steady, her rivals far and few.

Her water is precious, it’s in all our roots. Genetic and magnet, connected throughout the shoot. Her soil carries the remnants of every being that was and is to be. Our colors are her colors. We are her reflection, so please chose wisely what to absorb.

Preserving her natural state is everything but funny, certainly not a joke. If only we didn’t have such greed for clout and money. Her survival is systematically under threat. Her climate, and the lives of all her marching troops.

Yet Nature is unbreakable. You cannot fight the ocean. You cannot scare the darkness. You cannot stop the sun from rising nor prolong its shine.

While we are all so concerned about dying, She is consistent in providing for our every need. Our spiritual needs the most. She leaves endless clues to soothe our wondering minds. To let us know that we are Her children; and as long as She survives, we are her priority. Whether we know it or not.

It seems humans are the only earthlings that fear the sting of death. A lion hunts for survival. Not because it fears death. If it did fear death, it wouldn’t be the King of Jungle. It would only hunt the weak. Lions don’t hunt rabbits or squirrels. They hunt bison and buffalos. Animals are twice as large and just as dangerous.

Monkeys aren’t rude. They are filled with joy and wonder. Mysteriousness and curiosity. Like children. Something we all have forgotten. Something I hope, in time, we all remember. How to live without fearing death.

Because like a flower, our shoots will soon begin to wilt. Fading away from this time. But like everything in this universe, will return in seasons to come; radiating once more. As our energy will never be destroyed, just transformed into infinite patterns of life, love and beauty.

Have you ever had the issue of choosing from among a selection of flowers at the market? I always try to find the one that is less wilt, less open, fresher looking, etc. But it doesn't matter how detailed I am in my selection, eventually, they all wilt, dry up and die. Or are released back into the universe. Joining the line, waiting with patience for their season to return.

We are our ancestors. We are their efforts, their beliefs, their dreams, their energy. Transformed by evolution through space and time. We are particles travelling on the wave of time. Periodic waves with unpredictable tides.

Fires can be destructive when they happen unnaturally. Like when our misuse and neglect of Earth’s natural resources result in unnatural forest fires. Fires that burn without consideration of the lives engulfed in their flames. Like when we pollute Her waters with our waste. Waste that She was not equipped to remove or recycle. Because she did not create it. It’s unnatural. Inorganic. When we touch nature. We leave our mark upon her. She must now evolve to compensate for these changes. She must fulfil Her purpose. So she has to change. She must adjust, for the greater good.

How will these changes affect us? That can not be Her concern. Because She has to keep the line moving. She has to be able to recycle the energy of her children into the universe. To continue the transformation of their energy, into new life.

Natural fires are not bad. That I had to come to terms with. It's not always a symbol of death and destruction. Sometimes, it is a process for transformation. To make way for the recycling of energy into its new, evolve form. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, natural fires make way for new life. In that process of transformation, the old, wilted, dead organic waste, is clear from the land. Allowing nutrients and energy to be released. Released back into the soil, into the air, into the universe.

Fires also bring warmth to us in the cold of winter. The warmth of a campfire is only rivalled by the comfort of a warm blanket and fuzzy socks. Plus roasted marshmallows and stories worth of the smell of smoke in your hair days later. Oh, yea. You should probably wash your hair after camping. I do, most of the time.

If you have ever hiked, you will know what it really means to have a breath of fresh air. Clean and fresh. Cool and crisp. The air carries so much information. Yet throughout all of our days we have ignored the valuable details. There are things you can smell and taste in the air, which you didn’t realize until you travel elsewhere, where the composition changes. Every time I go to Jamaica I can tell I am definitely in a different geographic location, the moment I take the first breath while exiting the plane. It tastes and smells like home. Where the heart is.

The air carries more information than thoughts we all have ever thought combined. The air carries the dreams, memories and breath of the universe. It's literally flowing through our lungs and we are timely deficient of its entirety. Its depth and infinite contents. So close, yet so untouchable.

But we need not trouble ourselves with the nature of the air. We too are its contents. We too will travel with and in it through space and time. Forever. In whatever form She sees fit. The air sees all things, hears all things and knows all things. If you listen closely enough, She will tell you. She whispers with that still small voice. As soft as the brush of air on your skin first thing when you open the doors in the mornings, or as loud as the crashing of breaking water forms on the rocks at sea.

The sound of the forest is the most calming, soothing, peaceful sound you will ever hear. The way She travels through the trees, the way She skips down the streams. The way She greets Her children of the wild and the way they answer in return. The stillness of the darkness, the blinding glares of the sun, the warmth of the earth under your bare feet and the smell of all things out of reach.

We are all-encompassing of natures greatest gifts. Embedded in our ability to observe Her in all Her glory. With senses trained and untrained. She is not partial. All are welcome to watch. Like the Earth, Fire, Water and Air, we are Natures elements. We are her contents, all our thoughts and deeds. We are Her voice. We are Her Scent.

So maybe we really should just focus on being just petals. Leave the roots and the stem to do their jobs. Maybe we should just focus on all our might on our innate duty. To be a part of Earths radiant beauty. Shedding away throw time. Transforming from one form of energy into others. Our purpose is just to be. Not to destroy or destruct. Not to fight or deny the natural order of things. There are countless beings waiting patiently for their chance to be born and countless more to be reborn. Our place in the universe is final. Eternal. We have always been here. We will always be here. In many other forms.

“This is just the first time the energies of the universe has arranged themselves into these forms and called themselves us.” — I can't remember where I read this. It was on something about the universe and coherent energy.

We are remnants of old suns, stars, planets and their inhabitants. Help to conserve the efforts of the universe to recycle itself.

The hate, jealousy and greed are wasted energy, escaping via friction as heat. Reducing the efficiency of the universe’s evolution. Our universe will ‘one day’ become something none of us could ever imagine. But we don’t need to. Because we will all be there to see, feel, smell and hear it in all its glory.

P.S. We are all here in this form just for a season. Don’t let the length of that season, define your purpose or your reason. Focus your energy on just being. Because we have and will always be. Focus your energy on that Being. Your eternity depends on it.
