Are We Human?
As “people,” we each have our wants and needs. As “Humans,” what do we want for the world? We do not seem to reach that elevation as a country; why do we expect the world to be different?
Putin, Stalin, and Hitler do not and did not “see” humanity. We can forgive Cain for killing his brother. He probably had not developed the concept of “humanity” yet. He was driven by common personal animal emotion. Today, Putin drives the Russian population with the same iron first as his predecessors. He doesn’t have “gulags or concentration camps.” He does not need them; the people of Russia have been “trained” that way already.
A personal story, I was in Russia working in the late 1990s. one evening after dinner, we (we were told to always go out in pairs) were walking to the subway to go home, and we were stopped by a Russian couple who asked, “you are Americans?” — “yes, how do you know?” — “Because of the way you walk,” — “how is that?” — “you walk like you own the world.” I started observing people walking from then on and noticed the difference. Then, people walked like they did not want to be noticed.
Then a story our interpreter told me made sense. When she was a young girl, her father was sent and died in a gulag. He was accused of being a spy. Why? He was seen talking to a foreign couple on a certain bridge at a certain time. The KGB picked him up at home in the middle of the night. The family knew the foreign couple had stopped him to ask for directions. They lost him for good. His family was never told what gulag he was at or that he had died years later. She found out after Russia was “opened.” She went to several gulags and looked through their records to find out. People in Russia had to watch who they talked to and how to walk to look unassuming.
How long does it take for people to change under the threat of brutality?
In his speech on September 1, 2022, at “Independence Hall,” Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, President Biden said, “MAGA Republicans look at America and see carnage and darkness and despair. They spread fear and lies –- lies told for profit and power.” … “The MAGA Republicans believe that for them to succeed, everyone else has to fail.”
Before the President’s speech, on August 8, 2022, ex-President Trump’s home in El Lago, Florida, was raided by the FBI in the middle of the night by an army of people with armored vehicles and machine guns. Was that speech made to justify such a horrific act? It is horrific because this was a “President,” the embodiment of our country and the laws of the land. If our government can do that, what chance do we have? There is no respect. Not only for the man but for “We The People.” are we what the Declaration of Independence says we are? Did the FBI expect resistance from a Private Army at that “compound?” Why did they do it that way?
The DOJ then continued. Several high-profile private citizens were investigated, and subpoenas were issued for public exhibition of their subjugated condition. The School system was considered under “threat” by the DOJ; they had a school district send a letter and ask for an investigation, FBI agents assaulted a private citizen's home with a “warrant” and “arrested” her, putting handcuffs on, as if she was a common criminal, first thing in the morning, in her nightgown, in the cold, in front of her children for instigating “whatever” at the school. ALL subterfuges were created for intimidation with a lot of showmanship and the pretense “it was ALL legal.”
Our government leadership today “feels and smells” like they want to exert that subjugation to those “MAGA so and so’s” (the president had that speech), a clear line of demarcation for those chosen for the gulag. Today, intimidation of “the People” is the rule; what will it be tomorrow?
The hecklers on the stands yell (in medium), “to the gulag traitors!” how long before people from those stands start getting picked off, one by one, for whatever? How long until we start walking like the Russians?
Further, many stories abound in this medium about how the USA will resolve its “ideological” issues with another “civil war.” Killing is the norm for people to resolve problems “they perceive.”
How does an autopoietic crowd feel about humanism? And the future of Humanity as a whole? on the one hand, some say they are fighting for “Climate Control!!!!” That is “the only thing that will save humanity!!!” out of the 8 Billion humans on earth, China has about 1.5 Billion. That is 19% of the world population (one-fifth?), and they are the WORST offenders! What humanity? Whose humanity? Are those fighting for humanity? Or, to soothe their fears because, like chicken little, it is obvious the “sky is falling!!!
Where are the priorities for “Humanity?” How about talking to each other?
Communication for humanity can only happen when two silos of emotions, each with people that, in essence, talk to themselves to “reinforce” their beliefs, start talking to each other.
Today the New and “Improved” dictator of the world wants Ukraine to be subjugated. The rest of his plan is secret (don’t tell anybody; his goal is to rebuild the “Soviet Union!!!”). We are not going to let him, no matter what the cost.
In an ironic twist of fate, our “President,” who “OPENED” our borders, wants Ukraine to have its borders CLOSED. WHY? How does that make sense? Not only that, he is spending BILLIONS, but we, in this country, don't have to do that. Let ALL available Fentynel come in by the truckload through our open borders. Let that kill our youth; let the school indoctrinate our children; let all the criminals out of jail, disintegrate the police, and put mothers in jail!
I don’t blame the Ukrainians for fighting with all they have and can get from us to be a free people. I hope they win. And I also hope they don’t stop there and get rid of all the oligarchs within their midst and send them to Putin to deal with. Like that old commercial, “hey, look at Mikey, he will eat anything.”
This is the 21st Century of what we count as human existence. Really? Maybe it is rather “people” existence (lots of wars, lots of killing). Because as “humans” go, we have very little to be proud of. We mock all the “things” we talk about so proudly, thinking of ourselves as “human.” We think we are rational (are we?). We say that distinguishes us from the rest of the “animal kingdom;” meanwhile, we have nearly killed off all the “wild animals” in the world. How? We probably have killed more “people” than the animals have killed to “survive” all this time.

We have NOT become more human as time goes by; we have found “New And Improved!” ways to kill each other. This is true because the same emotion that drove Cain to kill Abel still drives us today. We allow it to. So, which brain controls you? your human/thinking brain or your purely emotional people/animal brain?
We might as well use that as an image of two facets of humanity today. For the “El Lago Raid,” the FBI executed a warrant against “The People” to make a very clear point. And today, ditto for “The People” being abused by a false authority. A further clear point, starting with well known people in the country, going down to Moms. What’s next? children?
Human (if you think you are one), What have you done lately to overcome your animal brain? Have you talked to the “other race?” I mean, a MAGA animal?
