Are TikTok Couples Cute Or What!

I do not have TikTok. My phone does not have enough memory space to allow me to download the app.

Also, besides the other social media apps that I have, I would not want to have to keep up with the happenings of another app too.

But because anything good that happens technology-wise cannot be missed in 2021, I still get to experience the great content on TikTok through other avenues.

First, most TikTokers also share their content on other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram and that is where I get to see it. Also, some wonderful and smart YouTubers compile the best TikTok hashtags into videos and upload them on their YouTube pages providing consumers like me with an entertaining and concise long-form TikTok experience.

TikTok for me is the best social media app so far. Unlike Facebook that is ‘no longer cool' and Instagram which has for the most part been a place where millennials come to floss about their somewhat fake lifestyles, TikTok is more real in my estimation.

It’s a happy app. People dance in it, they dance together, they keep up with the latest cool challenges and trends. They prank each other, they imitate each other, they share jokes and they share short clips of their life moments.

I love TikTok for its brevity. It’s like a plot of a movie that sticks faithfully to the storyline. It’s like a joke that hits the punchline immediately. There is no boring time-wasting in TikTok content.

I love the TikTok hashtags and challenges such as dropping in on your girlfriend or boyfriend naked, pretending you are an influencer, calling a spouse a boyfriend or girlfriend or calling a girlfriend or boyfriend wife or husband. The reactions when men get called ‘husband’ when they are still boyfriend are hilarious! Who would have thought titles meant so much in relationships?

I also love this challenge where guys call their mums and pretend to want to bring another girl over other than just their girlfriend. All the mums refuse to be part of this treachery. God bless TikTok mums.

TikTok dads are great too. Especially when they try to act like their wives or daughters. That too is super hilarious.

But what I love most about TikTok amongst all these reasons is the cute couples.

Damn! TikTok makes you feel like love is real. They make you want to get someone for yourself. The couples on TikTok are usually laughing, smiling, telling jokes, pranking each other, going places together, doing activities and running errands together.

They are also very good looking and are mostly in shape. They drive in their cars while holding each other’s hands. They make food for each other even when they are mad at each other. They call each other out when they spend money outrageously etc.

I also love how egalitarian the relationships are. Cleaning, cooking and taking care of children is not reserved for just one gender. Both the men and women on TikTok can be seen performing these roles.

The men on TikTok also come across as very sensitive and respectful and in touch with their feelings. They do not act all macho.

As most TikTokers are Gen Z’s I would assume that their socialisation in a more egalitarian society could have led to the wonderful things we see on TikTok.

Isn’t it TikTokers that infiltrated Donald Trump’s campaign website making him and his team think that he had secured a good number of attendees? We can all agree on the positive effects TikTokers had on democracy by these actions.

I might not be downloading the app anytime soon. But I shall with outmost certainty be keeping up with TikTokers on their other social media platforms that I have and on the entertaining compilations on YouTube.

And while there, I shall as always be keeping an eye on the cute couples and be inspired!
