Are human beings facing the greatest challenge of his history?
We need to re-think our economic system before nature itself forces us to do it!
I really do think that to have a real, significant change in our way of living; we need to have a worldwide catastrophe, like an asteroid or something like that.
I’m not a pessimist, but the way I see human behaviours nowadays, it is quite impossible for us to survive in the long run.
We became more and more selfish, and nothing has importance anymore but money and power.
Sad truth, don’t you think?
When you read about our evolution, you saw that all this “power trip of control” started soon after we became more sedentary. It was the beginning of the agricultural era.
People gathered in small groups and then created small villages, which became cities.
With the cities growing, we needed more structures and, here appeared currencies.
Men soon found that they could control the mass and rule the herd with that new exchange process. It was the end of the barter era.
It is entirely annoying when we stop a little to think about how ridicule has become our way of living since the agricultural era and mainly since medieval times.
The last two years have shown us that our capitalist system is becoming obsolete year after year.
Our governments print money like we can print flyers. And if they increase the taxes too much, everything could collapse.
Governments have a very basic view of the economy. If it moves, add taxes. If things are still moving, impose laws. If things stop moving, give subsidies. — Ronald Reagan
0.01% of the world population controlled more than 50% of the global wealth and, the rest of us fight to collect the crumbs that fall from their tables.
I do not say that the super-riches don’t do their parts in our evolution, but with the pandemic, I only found that our economic system is not accurate anymore.
We have to re-think the whole system. It doesn’t make sense to lose our lives working for paying essential goods like foods and if you have a bit of chance, maybe have a bit of luxury and vacations from time to time.
We are honestly not working together to elevate the human race. We are fighting each other to reach our bit of unreal sentiment of liberty.
Where are we going as human beings? Where is the human race going?
The ecosystem in which we live today is becoming more and more fragile so is our economic system. As Leonardo DiCaprio once said; The economy itself will die if our ecosystems collapse.
On one side, we consume our planet’s resources at a speed that, with the growing population, we will hit a wall sooner or later.
Instead of correcting our actual trajectory on earth, we spend billions to reach the stars. It is the same thing as putting your money in a savings account, knowing you have a full credit card to pay.
Our way of doing things has to change; otherwise, mother nature will force us to do it. If so, it will probably hurt badly.
The truth about climate change policies is that no country will want to sacrifice its economy in order to meet this challenge. — Tony Blair
It is the beginning of the year, and we must perhaps take a step back to think and see the big picture of our lives; our way of living.
Is there anything we can change as an individual? Sadly my answer is in the negation. The herd has to alter its course; it is an “all or nothing” thing.
As individuals, we are too small to make a real difference; the wheel is too big to stop it. It has to be the corporates and governments all around the world, together, they have to sit down and shape our future economy.
But will it be too late before they finally understand and move?
Have a great week of thinking!
