In adolescence, we do a lot of shit, and one of those is friendship with benefits. Who hasn’t had a hookup buddy who threw the first stone — I had a few and here are some of the lessons I learned about it.

Are friends with benefits worth it? Well, it’s even worth it if you’re willing to break your face a few times.

I’ve been through a lot of irrational anger over this. For example, in my sophomore year of high school, I made one of these friends with benefit, but I was extremely upset when I found out that three weeks later he was dating a girl from another class, and two years older than him.

Imagine my face. I thought that even if it was just a friendship with benefits, we should follow a minimum rule of not “cheating” — But I still hadn’t understood that friends with benefits don’t cheat, they just leave the field to live something real.

I was pretty sad about it for a while. I even stopped going out with my friends because of it — And the worst part: the guy even had the nerve to say that “we were just something casual”.

But not everything is so bad. In the third year of high school I finally found a boyfriend, and the coolest thing: before he was promoted to my partner, he stayed with me as a “friend for benefit” for at least a month and a half.
