Exhausted from the long trip, she unpacked, putting things away in her tiny room above the studio workshop.

No air conditioning needed at 3700 feet altitude. There were a few ants around the sink drain, nothing to worry about, and the mosquito net above her cozy bed had just a few holes.

Under the sink, her 8-inch brown tarantula roommate slept, not minding the sudden intrusion of light as the cupboard door opened.
