Arachnid Finds His Love Again

Find your way. A short story

Tuesday’s Prompt — Detaching with love

Detached from love, Arachnid aimlessly meanders through the fine threads of webland, in search of a lulling potion that can numb the pain. The little spider, tormented in a world of agonizing pain, embarked on a quest for clarity.

Detached from love, Arachnid could not make sense of the world anymore. It served no purpose to solidify faux façades in hopes of concealing the throbbing ache.

In a world filled with madness, the little spider could not afford to portray vulnerability. Strong convictions, rooted in fear, Arachnid, out of sheer desperation, sojourns in an illusory utopia, to escape from the unbearable feeling of detaching from love.

Infatuated by the resolve of newfound comfort, Arachnid found no desire for an epic homecoming. This new fictional reality proved to be more palatable than the blunt ferocity of webland. Still, the insatiable void never dissipated. Arachnid wondered for many days, “when will I start to feel like myself again”.

The weary spider was in dire need of answers, and they were not in the realm of complacency.

Detached from love, Arachnid still ached and longed for an unconditional substance, yet replenishing each delicate imperfection.

It was then, the thought of retracing the steps back the origin sporadically emerged, finding the oasis to a desert of misery. The homecoming was in process, and Arachnid gradually soared out of detachment’s snares by revisiting the cherished threads of webland.

The infamous ferocity of webland was quickly panning out to be more welcoming than Arachnid had formerly presumed. Arachnid was now noticing the magnificent splendor the mended cobwebs had to offer, an extraordinary interconnectedness among wholly crafted creatures.

That day, the edified spider understood the modus operandi of the mystical webland. Arachnid had to periodically detach from the world to find the flaming torch of love inside him, a love so durable it could mend broken hearts. Arachnid’s saga.

Just like Arachnid, you don’t need a whole lot to find your way back to your true self. The choice has always been in your hands. Whether it is being comfortable with current circumstances or disposing of every tool within your arsenal to elicit the desired change.

You need not be afraid of detachment; how you got there, knowingly or unknowingly, also implies that there’s a way out of that dreadful feeling by rediscovering what brings joy to your tender soul and radiating that light.

Self-love ensues after self-discovery, and only then can you truly begin to love others unconditionally.
