April Rains
A Poem
April rains — All the immaculate raindrops converge and bring back some memories — pleasant, unpleasant. Memories that won’t let me enjoy the rain. Memories that won’t let me endure the pain.
My parched mind and heart were begging for rains, and when it rained, it also reminded me of a doomed drizzling dusk sometime back.
A strange phenomenon, this is — I enjoy the smell of petrichor but also remember the smell of that doomed drizzling dusk, and back off. I feel the cool breeze permeating me but also remember the freezing cold of that drizzling dusk and shudder. I sense content in my heart but also remember the killing anxiety of that drizzling dusk and feel uneasy.
Memories — pleasant, unpleasant.

The worst part of holding the memories is not the pain. It’s the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared.” ― Lois Lowry.
I didn’t know about this Naani form of poetry, something new and interesting. As always, very nicely written by Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar
