Apparently, Spreading Negativity Is Worth It
Well, I hate it

I hate complaining. I hate negativity. Both lead to negative karma.
I love positivity. I love total accountability.
I think it’s so easy to play the blame game. To be frustrated and write about what annoys you about Medium’s latest changes (acquisition of Projector and new newsletter tool), the algorithm, the relatable model and so.
People have been complaining about Medium’s death for as long as I’ve been writing here (since December 2020 and probably earlier).
My feed is full of complaining.
Do you know why?
Because fear, rumors, and hate sell. Good news is bad news.
If you want to earn money $$$, start with this simple tip every journalist knows about.
Negative Posts Are So Easy To Write
There are some writers on this platform who write as many negative posts as possible.
Nevertheless, they are still writing on Medium although it’s doomed, the algorithm is against them and its features are getting worse.
I wonder why they aren’t leaving the platform. It’s as easy as this.
Just leave.
It reminds me of employees constantly (maybe even years) complaining about the company they work for.
Okay guys, then go! Leave the company and look for a better place.
Bullying, negative, toxic, inappropriate comments, and attacks
I know that by writing on a social media platform, I’m potentially exposing myself to negative and toxic comments.
However, until a few months ago, I still thought that this platform was different.
Then I read Robert Ralph’s story:
I Feel Like Walking Away From Medium — I Am Being BulliedRobert Ralph is the owner of the pub ‘New Writers Welcome’ which I have supported from day 1.
It’s a great initiative every new writer should join.
Obviously, Robert’s quick success did not suit a writer.
The female writer wrote an article and called him a ‘Twat’ for his writing.
I failed my English exam and are Dyslexic, and this is why I turn to Grammarly for help.
Is it wrong to try later on in life to try and re-educate yourself and attempt to write? Robert wondered.
For his call for help and support, he received over 80 uplifting comments that helped him to keep going.
Another example is Yana Bostongirl who also received toxic comments a few weeks later.
In an interview with ‘Coffe Times’ she said:
Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but you can also do it in a respectful manner.
I was repeatedly harassed by another writer until I seriously considered quitting this platform.
But after finding out that this person was wrecking havoc in other places too, I decided to speak out about my experience.
Yana is an empath. She writes from the heart, dares to be vulnerable, and shares her personal experiences.
Her learning: Don’t suffer in silence. Speak up!
My peace of mind is far more important to me than all this toxic energy coming my way.
My peace of mind is far more important to me than all this toxic energy coming my way.
I felt distressed, alone and so hurt.
How I was Harassed for Being an Empath by Another WriterFinal Takeaways
As new writer Rick Ruder said:
I’m (...) concerned with the explosion of toxic content that fills my feed.Medium is the new Reddit 😠Hate filled pieces; men suck, women suck, white people suck, black people suck, you’re a transphobe, you’re a racist.Well, I agree. That’s not the kind of community I want to be a part of. What about you?
Today is World Kindness Day. ❤
Its purpose
‘is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together.’
What we say and create can help and inspire more kindness.
That’s the community I want to be in.
We can create it together. Kindness matters. It spreads.
- Before writing a negative post or comment think twice.
- Focus on finding solutions instead.
- Focus on improving your own skills.
- Shift the focus inward. Direct your full attention to making yourself better.
- Look for opportunities.
I know. Doing this requires courage. It requires vulnerability and honesty.
Well, that’s the writing and commenting I’m looking for — encouraging and inspiring.
I want to grow with you.
Please, take total accountability and start to change.
Spread kindness, instead of hate and toxicity.
If you want to see change you must first start within. ❤
