They say life is about resiliency, and how easily one can be expected to bounce back after the traumatic events in life that are sure to come.

Its like we search for someone or something that might help us avoid going through this coming of age process, and so I wonder how much one would pay to completely avoid the ever so humbling experience also known as falling flat on your face. Things that make you say hmmm.

We all ignore the advice from our parents, the yield signs that our loved ones try to put in our path.

The scary part is that when we are going through our darkest times, the hardest and lowest parts of our lives, this is when we are the most alone. Even though we might share similar experiences with our peers in life, we each suffer at our own pace and in our own way. Yet The desire to become part of a collective, to feel our pain as a group, and to walk together down the darkest roads of our life is not something that can be attained.

Simply put, our pain, has been tailored to fit each one of us perfectly, snug in all the right places.

We are born in this world alone and we leave the same way, this is the reality of our lives. The sooner we come to this understanding the better, and I believe that this makes us stronger, even though it may seem unbearable to accept at first. When you begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, please know, it wasn’t all the people that you think carried you through it. Oh no, it was you my dear, it was your courage, your strength, your perseverance that got you through it.

You got yourself through the storm, and when times get tough again, you already know who you can count on to be there, it’s the face looking back at you in the mirror. That is the real ride or die and that person will never let you down.
