Apocalypse

A Cautionary Tale

We called ourselves the rulers of the universe. Our dreams were of stars and stardom, far away, and not close enough. While we ravaged and plundered, we neglected our own homes, until our very planet rebelled against us. We blamed each other and waged wars from which we could not recover. As our systems died out, so did our dreams, and so did we. Now there is only silence and these words gathering dust.
