Summary

The author is experiencing a significant drop in views over the past 10 days, attributing it to a holiday break and a general lull in reader and writer activity typical during the Christmas to New Year period, while advising others not to worry as viewership is expected to rebound in January.

Abstract

The author shares a personal challenge with their online content, noting a 50% decrease in views recently. They acknowledge that taking a break from writing over the Christmas holidays has impacted their consistency, which is a crucial factor in maintaining reader engagement. The author also points out that this dip in views is not unique to them, as confirmed by a conversation with a fellow writer, Chris Zappa, who is facing similar issues. The decrease in activity is attributed to the holiday season, a time when people are more focused on family and loved ones. The author reassures other writers that this is a temporary phase and encourages them to remain optimistic, anticipating a recovery in readership after the holiday season concludes.

Anyone Else Struggling With Views Right Now?

My views have basically been cut in half the past 10 days. In part, it’s due to the fact that I’ve been taking a break over the Christmas days and I plan to (mostly) continue with this break until New Year.

That undoubtedly contributed to this low in views. Consistency and daily writing are key as you all know.

Another reason for that low is this Christmas break in general, I feel like. I’ve talked about this with my friend Chris Zappa who’s been experiencing similar lows at the moment. The time between Christmas and New Year seems to be downtime for many writers and readers as well. Not surprisingly, this time should be spent with family, friends, loved ones. That’s exactly what I do.

So, don’t freak out about low views and earnings. January will get us all back on track!
