Any Title Would Work Once You Are A seasoned Hand, But What Won’t?

Why I would prefer you be a seasoned writer on Medium

I wasn’t happy when I noticed this fact. If only I knew one could have gotten off with any article header as a Top Writer. Then why didn’t I just focus on being a top writer?

Most writers believe that without a perfect title, their articles can never be curated or, at the very least, will not be seen across Medium even when self-published.

But guess what? It’s only a mirage. It’s all a lie. You can get off by writing anything you want.

Think of it too. Haven’t you seen articles with three word titles like…..”The Ball Point”?

I have seen far worse headlines, and we should stop clamoring about the titles not being informative enough or probably not having a formula. Even if Tim writes the best headers I have seen on Medium. He could still get away with writing titles that are single words.

I’m sure he would have more readers if he put out an article that was just titled “Life.” I would even rush to click and see what it’s about, and I’m sure you will.

So the thing to do is to aim to be a top writer or at least a seasoned hand rather than just aiming to write compelling titles, because, for one, people could click on your convincing title and click away before even completing the first paragraph. That’s why you have to work more on being a seasoned hand. And even if that is not too hard to crack, most people feel it is.

Myths about seasoned hand

It’s not that you don’t know it, it’s not that you don’t see it, but you are just too scared to do it. Maybe sometimes by an awful lot of myths in the air — Author

There are a thousand and one myths about writers who write consistently. Most relevant and newer writers feel it’s the hardest thing to do. Of course, the term sounds rather obscure, but it only means that you write every time, and this is the only way to get more readers or at least beat having great titles with fewer reads.

1.You have to write every day:

Nope! That’s not right.

You can tell that I am bold with that phrase. That’s because I have tried writing and publishing every single day. Well, I only noticed that instead of getting more readers, it only got my readers bored of my writing, and that’s because I had forced the writing ability on some days.

Most of the seasoned hands or Top Writers who get their articles read by a massive group of followers don’t write every day. Most only write on specific days, and they would always produce the best quality of articles.

Instead of writing every day and get overwhelmed by yourself, why not write on specific days and be properly productive. Don’t get scared by this, it’s only a myth. You may not write everyday, but you can publish everyday.

2.You have to edit perfectly:

Don’t get me wrong yet. Yes! You should always edit your articles properly, but not directly so.

When editing, you should only admit the allowable amount of edits to get your work to standards. Because truly you are not submitting them to anyone. It’s not a research paper, neither is it a dissertation. So if you have taken this myth to be true about seasoned writers, well you are on the wrong path.

A part that may lead you to being a writer with quality articles but less appreciative pay.

Instead of believing that myth, edit just as much as you feel would be enough for your article not to be boring. Delete as much as you can. Get your articles to a standard and acceptable score.

3.You have to write for big publications:

If you believe this myth about seasoned writers. Then you haven’t read enough here, and you probably don’t have enough belief in yourself.

Truly, many writers start here writing for huge publications, but if you watch them closely in their journey. They still self-publish articles.

That is to tell you that you don’t need the help of a so-called big publication to become a seasoned hand on Medium so that you can also get an escape from writing titles that are horrible but can still be read by many.

Now you know you can get away with any article title once you’ve become a seasoned writer, and you have supposedly gotten rid of all the shallow myths that are wrapped around the thoughts of being a seasoned writer.

Now, these are the things that you can’t do even if you get away with regular titles. Here are the things that won’t work even after you are a seasoned writer.

Your approach tone:

No one wants to listen to a perfectionist or a know-it-all. Th at is why you should work on your tone or approach while writing.

Trust me, every reader can spot a lying writer, and don’t compare creativity to lying. Once you get to that stage, most of what you’ll write will be inspirational.

Whatever niche you think you want to do, you will always put out inspirational writing. You might not see it, but it will automatically come to you. That is why you rarely see the big writers publish how-to articles here on Medium.

Be as blunt as you can, I mean. That’s why people like Tim will continue to thrive.

He lashes himself with words in his article, and he doesn’t even sound the best. He expresses himself with intent through examples from his life. Hence, if you keep a bad tone of approach in your writing, even after escaping the title discrimination, You will still get secluded from readers, and that won’t just work for you.

Your utter faith in writing here:

It’s perfectly okay to have faith in whatever you do. But this time, have a little less faith. Not directly so, but have an option. Things won’t work right for you if you keep writing here alone.

All the luring how-to articles about making money here won’t tell you that. But when or before you start gaining traction here on Medium, you should find some where else to write too.

Most top writers would claim they get an armful of monthly earnings from their articles, but they might not tell you they also write for a content company, they might not tell you they have a selling E-book on Amazon, they might not tell you they write on Fiverr, and they might not tell you they also pitch articles.

Only the truthful one’s will.

That is why you should specifically think about your faith here. It just won’t work. Even if you are a great writer here, you might end up being a first-level writer elsewhere.
