They were “playing” with guns

Guns should not be considered as toys

There are many gun owners in the United States who love their guns. They seem to be mainly against gun control. They are likely to be mostly responsible gun owners who practice safety as much as possible. Unfortunately, there are too many guns which make it into the hands of people who should not have them.

Some gun owners are in favor of gun control to a certain degree. They don’t mind having guns registered and requiring training in the use of guns. Others are against any form of control over their weapons. Gun control measures are generally an effort to keep the wrong people from getting hold of guns ro prevent senseless killings.

Although guns have their purpose, they are not toys and can be dangerous weapons.

Ellie Hall had a story for BuzzFeed titled: “A Florida Teen Was Killed As He And Another Teen Took Turns Shooting Each Other While Wearing Body Armor, Police Said.”

A16-year-old was killed as he and another teen took turns firing guns at each other while wearing body armor, according to police in Florida.

The shooter and another teen have been arrested in connection with the death.

One of the teens was arrested on suspicious of aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm. The other was arrested for providing false information to the police. Both seventeen-year-olds are being tried as adults.

Police were called to a home and found the victim had been shot inside. He was taken to the hospital. He died from the injuries of the shooting.

The police may use bulletproof vests to protect themselves when they are working in dangerous situations. The vests do not provide total protection. Perhaps these teenagers thought they were protected.

The victim and the accused had been taking turns shooting at each other while wearing a bulletproof vest. They apparently thought they were safe because of the body armor.

Another teenager had taken a cellphone video at the home. The accused teen was holding a vest and a 9mm gun to the camera. He was asking if they “had ever seen anyone get shot with a bulletproof vest on.”

Then he shoots his friend who was wearing the vest. He fires the gun several more times.

Now a teenager has killed his friend and likely ruined his life. Guns should not be used in that manner. It was a foolish game they were playing.

It is bad enough that adults are using guns for criminal activity. Guns also have been and are still being used by teenagers to commit crimes. Students are killing their peers at school. Friends are shooting friends. Some are committing drive by shootings. Teenagers and small children are having accidents and killing others with guns.

Death is coming too early to many people because of the irresponsible use of guns or due to criminal activity by people who should not have guns.
