WALKING ROUTE 66
Another Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
This one is a little happier.

I had a blast twisting balloons for kids of all ages during the two-hour layover in Dallas before making my connection to Houston.
When I got on the bus, a young man invited me to sit next to him. I thought that was kind of strange considering more than half the bus was empty, but weird is just up my alley, so I sat down next to him.
For the next three hours or so, Joshua and I talked about life and how does a misfit fit in. He was a 27 years old young man who had his shit together in life, just not the way most people would consider it together. He had decided to go live his grandmother, “the only family I have” as he put it. He got off in Conroe, which is about 50 miles north of Houston. I was inspired to slip him some cash as many people had done for me.
I hung out with my children till lunch, and then later in the evening went by Cici’s Pizza to twist balloons. It was a good night.
As I think back and ponder.
I had asked Joshua what made him invite me to sit with him, and he said, “I just felt that you’d be someone I could have a meaningful conversation with, and I can gain some knowledge and wisdom.” I was humbled.
I remembered my prayer, asking God to use me how He saw fit. When you are willing to serve, those who can use your service will be attracted to you. As for the writers who want to make an impact, I promise you that your words will reach those who need to read them.
It reminded me of the time in Orlando when my friend Yolanda Bynum delivered a speech that made a life-changing difference to someone who wasn’t even in the room at the time. But, more importantly, how it boosted Yolanda’s confidence and morale, finding out that she was on the right path. I wrote about that incident here.
Stay blessed and be happy, my friends.
Days 52 & 53: Hiatus Begins (Original blog post).
Just for fun.
Yesterday, I shared a song that became a self-fulling prophecy for me. Here is another one.
When I asked my son the other day to show me how to do something on my computer, he said, “You know, there is this thing on your computer; it is called Google.”
He’s grown up just like me.
(Watch the clip, there is surprising intro to the song)
