Another One Lost

Poetry — Yellow Butterfly Series

I never thought I’d lose the one I love to a broken system I always thought we would bypass the brokenness And make it out of this life never a victim

You need help But you can’t get it from a broken system You can’t get it from men that just use them But the system is profitable They won’t let ever let up or let go

Mentally and emotionally in pain The system is cultivating your mind to go insane We continue to hurt our sisters and brothers like abel and cain Never realizing we’re the ones who are the culprits behind this game

Another lost soul Another unfulfilled batch of goals Another broken heart Another heavy burden we’ll have to push in our carts

I wish it could be different But you can’t change the past I wish I could go back to our memories And make them last

But everything is different now Another one lost Another one who didn’t count the cost
