Another Joke

Without the punchline — A poem

Photo by Monica Infiesto on Unsplash

Someone is always watching. When anxiety and logic work together to hijack my comprehension. Compare me to disappoint me.

A surfacing punchline that chases when attempting to catch our breath. Heartrending battle for tears of joy. As I can vanish absent applause, should I not remain lost?

Endlessly losing, endlessly returning.

Extending my hand for a life to live. A preventable patheticness I admit. Unable to get close enough to the unavoidable conversation.

Every day I spend too long inside my head. I start wishing I were dead. You would too. So, please stay away from those ideas, I beg of you.
