Another Day, Another Battle

Every day feels like a fight that needs to be won.

I was at a stage of life where I couldn’t get up from my bed. I am sure there are a lot of people going through this now, and I want to tell you that nobody will save you except you.

I would stay up until 5 a.m. just stuck in my head, trying to get rid of the unwanted thoughts. The more I tried to get rid of them, the more I suffered. It’s like a never-ending loop.

I won't go into the specifics of my own struggles; I'll just say that in the end, I discovered that the more weight I gave to the unwelcome thoughts and uncertainties that invaded my mind, the more they hurt me.

The solution was to allow them to enter my mind, accept them, and leave them there.

It's like anticipating a wave of thoughts and welcoming them but ignoring them—just letting them be in the background of my mind—because the more you think about them, the more you suffer.

It depends on our mental health, life events, and age, so you might or might not be able to relate to this. But I am sure that you can relate to the fact that you are facing your own struggles and fighting your own battle.

As you may already know, my main goal when I write is to inspire my readers in some way. I just love to inspire people, because sometimes all we need is a little push or some encouraging words from a total stranger to feel like we are not alone in this game called life.

Usually I don’t write poetry, but Misbah Sheikh tagged me in a poetry challenge issued by Sheri Jacobs, and I was invited by NADINE H to the creative prompt initiated by Jason Edmunds. You can find these challenges down below. (fun and amazing challenges by the way)

I hate to refuse challenges, but writing poems is not my specialty. I'll come up with one in my own style, using the words and phrases that suit my language: the motivational language

I wrote it for the sole purpose of providing inspiration to all the people who feel like every day is hard to live.

Another day, another battle,

Fighting through the endless fray,

With weary bones and aching muscles,

I struggle to keep my fears at bay.

Every day is a new challenge.

A test of strength and will,

For life is a battlefield,

And we must fight on still.

The sun rises, and we rise with it.

Ready to face the day,

We brace ourselves for the battle

and for whatever comes our way.

We march forward with heads held high,

Denying the winds of fate,

For we know that every battle won

is a step towards our ultimate fate.

And as we stand in the midst of war,

Our spirits strong and true,

We take another step towards victory,

Another day, another battle, anew.

For though the fight may never end

And the battles may rage on,

We will always stand strong

Until the final battle is won
