MEMOIR | ACROSTIC POEM
Annunziata Maria
Mums the word

Addictive laugh that can be heard down the street
Nourishing treats made with love for an army to feast
Never say never get back up on your feet
Observe the others worse off not accepting defeat
Understanding sometimes you just need a hug and vent
Noble Nance will be there with arms and ears present
Zealously creative with natures bloom
Iridescence within lights up any room
Adventures a plenty near and far
Travelled with imagination or in a car
Always sparked with energy and flair
Mum and Nanee, for many you care
Arms full of elbow grease and grace
Rare to see sadness upon your face
Invincible you appear to me, even through all life’s pains
Amazing, always. Proud to have your blood in my veins.
Words could never express how grateful I am to have a mother like I do.
Flaws and all, as she tells me…cause we all have ‘em, no ones perfect…she is and always will be a shining light in my life.
Thanks, Mum for being you. x

A shout out of appreciation to Alison Tennent who reminded me of my own mother in this piece. Thank you.
