💯 STORY CHALLENGE — An edition of It’s Luci, Not Lucifer

Luci walked along the beach in confusion as she dumped sand from her bra. Her gaze swept across the sands and water as she searched for the idiot that summoned her. Then her eyes fell upon the sigil sloppily written in the sand.
“No wonder I ended up six feet under,” she muttered while she flicked sand from her ear. Unable to find anyone she shifted her perception to the spiritual plane. “Ah, a dust devil. What do you want?”
“Batteries.”
“What?” She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Why? Why could you possibly want batteries?”
“For friend.”
“Where is this friend? You’re alone here.”
“Mars.”
Luci groaned as she rolled her eyes. “Of course.” She cast a glance at the ocean waves that rolled into the beach. The gentle sway of the palm trees as the wind blew past had a calming effect. “Okay. This one’s on the house but I’m going on vacation for a while.”
The dust devil began to clap excitedly before Luci cut it off. “I swear to the nine layers and beyond!” she threatened with a pointed finger, “If you interrupt my beach day I’ll turn you inside out and hang you from a tree by your guts. Understood?”
With the same stupid grin, the dust devil nodded in agreement.
