Mornings are my favorite part of the day 🥰

Sunday evenings are the worst, you all know why right? The thought of Monday is dreadful, but then for me, nothing like it, once Monday actually starts.

Temporarily, I am out of work, so I do not have to worry about reaching the office on time, preparing for a meeting, or even fake-greeting my colleagues!

I do need a job but a part of me likes staying at home — not having to respect a specific time for work. Maybe I am just used to being in my comfort zone.

Every morning, my husband has to leave for work at 7:30, and so I am already up by then, wishing him a good day, kissing him goodbye, and secretly elating inside because of all the room, space, and time I will have to myself during the day.

Once he leaves, I enter into what I like to call the — “Me Zone

I am happy and dancing, just like that.

No matter what is going on in my life, the first three hours of my day, never fail to make me feel good. They are often a productive distraction and I am barely stressed.

I think you guessed it right.

As soon as my husband leaves for work, I pour myself a cup of coffee and make myself comfortable on the bed (we have a small house, so I do not have a separate writing desk, I’d wish for one though). Wasting no time, I dive into my online space, Medium is literally always, my first pick!

And then, I am lost. Lost in my own world of writing, ideas, creative thinking, learning, and reading, on days when I am publishing, I publish, etc., etc.

My writing time and space are accompanied by a cup of coffee, it is a must because it is also early morning and I do now need it to wake up, sort of, you know!

Here is what I have realized about my writing experience —

  • The time I spend writing and reading is the time when emotionally, I feel happy, useful, and satisfied. This is why I feel, that writing is therapeutic for me.
  • My mind and my body are used to writing in a comfortable, sweet spot, inside my home and so writing in any other environment (even on the couch in the living room) or time feels a little difficult.
  • No matter how many other things I need to take care of during the day, I am always driven to write and Medium for the better part of my morning. This is because the process of writing has become so integral to my life and lifestyle.
  • Writing alone in a quiet environment offers me the “me-time” and lands me in a mind space where I do not have to worry about any social niceties or obligations. It is blissful in a way, momentarily!
  • When I write, read or work on improving myself, I find it to be highly fulfilling. In all, those three hours offer me absolute richness, which I can experience every single day.
