ANNECY — A Second Chance
I came back to Annecy for a second chance of getting beautiful images.

It is still painful to me the lost of my entire photographic equipment on the day my husband and I drove to Barcelona.
Many of my friends do not really understand what happened and a few told me to my face that I was stupid to get robbed.
While the car is on the run and someone horns you heavily and asks you to pull over, giving you a signal that the back of your car is smoking, would you pull over?
Yes, my husband and I were travelers but it does not mean we think of people will con us for something. I can never have thoughts someone would be so mean to do such a thing.
What puts me together from that incident is that I am alive, my husband is alive and we are both not hurt as we continue on our journey. Travelers' minds are like that. Everyone can agree with me, I guess?
In case you like to read the full story about the robbery on the highway to Barcelona, the link is below.
“I can always earn more money, but I only have one life to live.”
I went back to Annecy in France to get some shots hoping I can reproduce the shot I was able to take 2 nights before the incident.
That morning, the day of the robbery, I published a short story and one image I was able to transfer from my camera to my phone and uploaded it on Medium which shows the link below.
The image was untouched of any kind, I called it the perfect shot, the timing, the environment, and my mode of taking that shot, everything was perfect.
If you are an experienced photographer, you can understand what I am trying to say.
Photographing is not just about taking and pointing your camera at the subject you want, the person behind the camera does the most and carries a very important role to create that perfect image… Elvie Lins
It is why every professional photographer is different.
The editing version of my images is a plus, most of my nature shots, I like to capture in a way I have minimal editing when finalizing the image.
So here I am, presenting to you Annecy in France for the second time.
Annecy By Night
We arrived at the perfect time, the sun was just about to go to bed. The below image is the other end or the back of the Palais de I’lle, (the prison building), but it is a museum now.

The sun was harsh and I forget to pack my filters. So, we waited for a bit and had a drink on the left side of the canal. (Above image)

However, I was wrong, because I was supposed to go on the other side to the face of the Palais de I’lle. By the time I got there, it was pitch dark. Long exposure did not work. As you can see in the below image.

Palais de I’lle
The house in the shape of a ship is a historical monument that is in the canal and is surrounded by fascinating building and restaurants that serves all types of cuisines to suit your taste.
People were dining, restaurants were full, and people were waiting in line to get a table. Yes, that is Annecy. Tourists were flocking here from all around the world, I suppose. Everyone speaks English, I heard them as I walked past.

I was not very pleased with my images, so I decided to just relax and grab a good meal at Milton Pub.
The next morning, my husband encourages me to go see what it’s like in the town during the day.
The 2 images above are from the same location but totally look so different. This is in the Square, off from the canal.
Annecy By Day

In the above image, you see the Palais de I’lle in the center. The atmosphere in the morning is peaceful. You see what the surrounding looks like. Seeing the building is fascinating. I love how this type of building, looks very ancient and full of history.

Annecy is located in the French Alps, known for its picturesque and medieval buildings with friendly and English-speaking people. The town is situated on the shores of Lake Annecy, which makes it a popular spot for swimming, fishing, and boating.

Wrapping up
If you go to Annecy, camping is fun and it is very cheap. Try to camp by the lakeside. There are many affordable hotels from 99.00 Euros onwards per room away from the town area if you are driving. My husband and I tried both, staying in a hotel and camping. I prefer camping the most. Camping in Europe is very classic.
As for sightseeing, there are many things to see in Annecy. Walking around the old town square where Palais de I’lle is located is sure to drain your energy with so many people, especially during the summer time from July to the end of September.
The lake itself has so many activities where you can rent a boat, go swimming, jetskiing, or just sunbathe.
Thank you very much for reading.
