Summary

The text is a poetic reflection on the struggle of a writer to capture elusive thoughts and words onto paper, personifying words as entities in rebellion against the writer's control.

Abstract

The author of the text, Suntonu Bhadra, shares a personal struggle with writer's block in a poetic narrative titled "A POETIC JUSTICE." The piece, "Animosity With Words," vividly describes the internal conflict of a writer whose mind is teeming with words that refuse to be penned down, likening the experience to a war between the writer and the words. The words, full of life, dance and flee from the writer's grasp, demanding an apology as a condition for their cooperation. The writer, reduced to begging, realizes that the words are celebrating a holiday of freedom from the writer's command. The poem concludes with the writer resigned to document this very animosity, accepting the words' autonomy. Additionally, the author invites readers to explore another piece, "Memories of my small village," which reflects on aspects of village life that the author misses.

  • There is a clear personification of words, giving them the ability to dance, flee, shout, laugh, and even demand an apology, which adds a whimsical yet poignant tone to the struggle.
  • The writer acknowledges the power dynamics between themselves and the words, referring to themselves as a "monarch" and the words as rebels enjoying a day of liberation.
  • The piece reflects a deep respect for the independence of words and the creative process, suggesting that words cannot be forced but must be coaxed and respected.
  • The invitation to read another work suggests that the author sees value in diverse experiences and themes, from the abstract concept of words to the tangible memories of a place called home.
