Ancient Evil
A Ranch Hand Agency Prompt
Hearken unto me and listen close, young one. The time is now to create your own horror, your own curse of the flesh. This is the time to prepare for war with ancient evil.
We desire your fantasies, dark poetry, subsister stories, and serial fiction, but right now, the Agency must feed on your worst nightmares.
Come to us. Let us spread your fear to the masses.
- Stories should be no longer than 3,000 words.
- Stories should be SFW but on the dangerous side. This is the Agency after all. We’re not looking for Erotica here. We’re looking for something more sinister.
- Stories will be released as per your notes or on a first come first serve basis.
- The rules of Medium must be adhered to, meaning no illegal content. If you do want to put up a Trigger Warning, you are welcome, though it is not needed. Readers know the Agency is a dangerous place.
- This is Ancient Evil. Go as dark and heavy and scary as you want. If you want to write about medieval torture, dragons, barbarism, genocide, black magic, or sexuality, do it. We only play by the standards written here.

- The deadline is November 12th.
