An Unwelcome Sight
October Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Site or Sight”
Sorry, Haze. You Are Not Welcome.
We had a haze situation in Singapore over the weekend. It was caused by the smoke from ongoing forest fires in our neighbouring country, Indonesia.
The key factor in whether we’re affected by haze on any given day is the wind direction — if it’s blowing from the direction of the fires, we get hit; if not, we’re in the clear.
The hope is that the Indonesian government takes decisive action to control and extinguish these forest fires. They’ve made promises in this regard, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they follow through. It’s important because, as you can imagine, dealing with smoky air isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time.
