An Open Letter to my Readers

Part of Dora’s Travesty of Justice

I am slowly working on a True Crime as well as my next installment of Gracie’s saga. Here are a bit of facts as to why I am delayed:

The bootleg septic tank outside the back door

We had an undisclosed septic tank on our property as shown in the above picture. In my county, you are permitted one septic tank per lot, not two. The Real Estate Broker sold us such a property, convincing us that this result was part of the entire septic system. She even invited the Septic Inspector to participate in the sham. Our broker ordered him not to investigate the lower septic system in 2016 (when we purchased the property), forcing us to believe that they both were telling the truth and it was one system due to Washington State’s requirement of relying on the inspector’s knowledge.

Fast forward to 2020, the same septic inspector changed his mind, his amnesia ended, and now decides that there are two septic tanks. He stated that it is a result of our lack of understanding about his attempt to commit fraud. We discovered the actual fraud during the time we put the house on the market. Remember when you were a kid and you saw someone’s paper in school that had numerous red marks on it-that is us. As you can guess, our buyer flew back to California that day after reading about our numerous red marks.

We have been fighting with the county’s building department, the Septic tank installation/design company for two years. Oh yes, the additional building still needed to get certified. Unfortunately, this building certification was tied to the septic certification. As of last week, we were finally certified. I would have rather been putting my time towards reading your work as well as writing my stories.

The bedroom in the completed building

So, as of last week, after our two years of wholes, dirt, lack of landscaping, and uncooperative bureaucracy, we are done and final permits for the building and the septic.

But, there is more! We hired a lawyer two years ago after nearly satisfactorily embezzling $17,000 from a final trust payment for the Septic Company. He also neglected to complete a Real Estate Case (against the broker and septic inspector), our previous lawyer was incapable of finishing this case because he got lost along the way. Our previous lawyer also had amnesia as our septic inspector did when he stole the $17,000.

But, now, after twenty lawyer interviews, our substitute is here. Maybe there is a little justice after all.

My shout-out is a thank you for all of you who has contributed to Be Open. If you have not written for us, maybe you could give us a try! Thank you!
