An Ode to a Sunflower
November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Happiness”
Happiness is the smile of sunflowers
Who knows what may lie around the next corner? There may be a window somewhere ahead. It may look out on a field of sunflowers.
-Joe Hill
I was so excited when I stumbled upon a vast sunflower field in the middle of bustling Pune city. Sunflower is a synonym for happiness and positivity. As a photographer, it never stops inspiring me. Needless to say, I became a regular visitor in this particular field, carrying a camera and tripod on my back. Happiness is nature in full bloom!
Can anyone tell me why the sunflower is always facing the sun?
Ah! Sun-flower
-By William Blake
Ah Sun-flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the travellers journey is done.
Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my sunflower wishes to go.
Keep your face to the sunshine, you cannot see the shadow. It is what sunflowers do.
-Helen Keller
