An Invitation: Reflect On The Best Decisions You’ve Made

Life is busy. Take a minute for yourself.

Parents second guess themselves — a lot. When you’re immediately responsible to guide the next generation, parents apply unnecessary pressure that often causes anxiety. Maybe I am projecting?

Tracy Stewart invites “meeting free days” and suggests they could change your life. I have to agree.

Tracy talks about making time and space to feel a deeper connection with yourself:

Do you step back and reflect on what you have done “right”?

Whether you are a parent or not, I invite you to take a minute to do just that!

Take this moment to pause, breathe and reflect on some key decisions that solicit a sense of pride.

Give yourself a pat on the back.

Acknowledge the goodness that you contribute to the world; to your neighbour; to your fellow writers here on Medium.

You are worthy.

You have made some incredible choices that are fulfilling, rewarding and have inspired others.

There is something magnificent in you — I can see it and feel it in the words I read here in this space.

You are awesome.

For our family, we made decisions around:

  • letting our children start a YouTube channel
  • mandatory participation in an arts and a sports activity
  • signing the kids, at their request, for a paper route
  • choosing to home school
  • making it a priority to purchase an all-season camper

And — I would classify these as some of the best decisions we have made.

What are your best decisions?

Let me know about at least one of them in the comments.
