An Inspiring Journey of Human Connection, and Words

An abundance of creation

Photo by “My Life Through A Lens” on Unsplash

In March this year, I decided to write outside of my journal, revealing my thoughts for all eyes. At the time, I was scared out of my mind. Fear, doubt, and negativity, surged through the neurons in my brain, threatening to keep my words hidden in between the pages of black and white notebooks, forever.

My stories could have stayed bound, but here’s the thing — I traveled down that road all my life. I knew what that path led to, and it would bring me back to emptiness every time. I couldn’t do it anymore. Facing my fears have got to be better than this lonely writers road, I thought.

In moving forward along this frightening path, I met incredible people who showed me the ropes with their blessings and guidance. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and that will forever live in my heart. I continued to write on Medium, and little by little I learned and grew beside them— never stop learning, growing, and connecting.

In sharing the good and bad times through words with other writers, my path has been and continues to be, lit up by people who bless me with the gift of inspiration through their conversations, stories, and the books they have written.

It’s an incredible feeling when you share a common passion with someone, these people just get you, in a way that most don’t. Although being a writer is challenging in its own right, I learned that people can help melt fear away like sun-kissed snow, placing us within a punctuated paradise.

Wonder words

Words, words, words

all around

strolling when a writer’s in town

turning worlds upside down

Isn’t it wonderful —

Words

that are book and mind bound

written by a human

in their unique sound.

While I never expected this good fortune, it has been a powerful experience to see how words have come full circle, and all because of stepping out on a ledge. To celebrate this appreciation, I want to share this abundance of words with you, passing along the inspiration — paying it forward while giving thanks to some of the earth’s angels.

Gayle Kurtzer-Meyers

Gayle has got to be one of the sweetest souls you’ll come across. She gifted me not one but two books when we first met months ago. Ever since then, she blessed me with her friendship, guidance, and love. To top it all off, she is a hard working and incredible writer.

Thank you, Lighting Gayle, for being here through the good times and the bad. Your continued blessings and love are cradled deep within my heart, reminding me that the world is still a bright place because it has people like you in it. I love you.

The first book is written by her, The Tremendous Power of Positive Language, and is an inspirational read.

This book is about how we must be conscious of how we think and speak to those in our lives. Gayle invites us to unlock the power of positive language and stop the vicious cycles of negativity.

Melissa Speed

The second book Gayle sent, Our Lights is a fantastic poetry book that Melissa Speed, her son, and many outstanding writers put together to raise money for a charity called FirstLight Trust. Melissa’s son, Caelan, is only ten years old. This kid is super-talented, just like his mama.

Thank you, Melissa, for being the best fellow Bee friend ever. You are always generous with your support, and you remind me not to be too hard on myself. You share my fears, and I appreciate your continued empathy and friendship. I love you.

An incredible compilation of poetry that whisks you away into distinct and fascinating perspectives. How wonderful that it was created with charity in the mind and heart of a young boy.

Help stop the light going out. Putting blue light service and armed forces veterans at the heart of all we do.

I am thankful for the opportunity to pay Gayle’s gift forward and send this book from the United States to India for my dear friend Chirag.

Bingz Huang

Bingz, oh Bingz! Bingz is a gentle soul and a go-getter at the same time. I saw Bingz valiantly put her first book of poetry together in less than two months while managing three children and her newly founded publication, Gentleness Ambassadors. Bingz brought me to tears when she asked me to write the foreword for her book and again when the book was in my hands.

I don’t know how to describe the joy I felt once I saw her dream and hard work come to life. All I know is that I am proud of her and couldn’t be happier for her. I’m still in a little bit of shock that she wanted me to be a part of this. To collaborate with Bingz on this book has been one of my most heartfelt accomplishments this year.

Bingz, thank you for the honor, your friendship, and love. Thank you for being an incredible role model for parents everywhere — through hard work and dedication, parents can aspire and attain more for themselves while helping the world be a more peaceful place. I love you.

What an enjoyable, sweet, and whimsical collection of poetry. Bingz takes you into the gentle womb of this book as she seamlessly reminds us to reconnect with ourselves. Such a fun book!

Carolyn Riker

Carolyn is a fellow sensitive soul, and you can feel her nature-infused, vulnerable vibes through each poetic verse. Carolyn is, without a doubt, proudly connected to the Universe. Her poetry is out of this world.

Thank you, Carolyn, for being a fantastic East Coast friend, supporting and encouraging me with punctuation that makes my soul happy. I can’t tell you how glad I was to find you on Medium, someone who likes to use more than five exclamation marks at the end of a sentence!!!!!! I love you.

Carolyn’s book, This is Love, is easy to get lost in. Her deep flow of words in these poems reach into your heart and soul. Indeed a beautifully crafted, emotion-filled book that calls life like it is.

Inspiration

I can’t truly describe how grateful I am to have met these incredible people. Having their books in my home, and presence in my life makes me feel like I will always have a piece of them in my heart. None of this would have been possible without them, writing, Medium, and humble forces at work.

Be inspired to keep connecting, writing and reading; it brings an abundance of invaluable meaning to life. Here’s to friendship and our journeys together!
