An Incomplete List of Things That Help Me Survive
In response to Day Seven of the KTHT Advent Calendar Prompt

What things help you survive and keep you motivated?
I thought about this question and was surprised by how many trivial, easy things keep me going. It’s amazing how simple life can be when we allow it.
Many things can derail motivation, like weather — either good or bad! Blasphemy! I am a sucker for bright sunny days- they make me want to hike or spend time soaking in the pool rather than being a responsible adult. At least, I can admit it. But winter can provide the same pitfalls with ice, snow, and long dark days. It is up to us to stay motivated and survive adverse conditions.

Final Thoughts
It is an incomplete list because this is the school of life. We are always learning and growing. I leave my list unfinished, allowing myself to add to it at any inspired point.
I have been through a lot, both physically and emotionally, in my life, and I have learned that some of the best moments occur in the mundane. So, yes, Netflix, the Hallmark movies, and butter are on my list, but nature is right up there. To end my list with orgasms seems fitting, as I once had a conversation with my best friend that if every day started with an orgasm, the world would be a far more peaceful place. Honesty is an excellent policy. So, there you have it. I have zero desire to be a world or political leader, but I believe I have a few things figured out. What do you think? Please comment, and let’s talk.

Janin Lyndovsky described it perfectly in her recent story about the fire on her property. Sometimes, as humans, we need to go to the place where we feel is right for us so that our spirits can thrive — just as the trees on her beautiful land did.
Sam Letterwood reminded me of the importance of sprinkling kindness everywhere I go.
