An Important Message For Aspiring Writers Who Want Their Stories To Be Featured In Medium Publications
Please don’t ask this thing from publication editors over and over again. Your story may never get accepted
Medium publications are a good way to get maximum exposure to your stories. Almost all writers, whether aspiring content creators or pros, try to get their content featured in the biggest publications. There are so many benefits of getting published with a Medium publication, with maximum exposure and higher chances of getting curated being major ones. However, there is something that aspiring writers ask publication editors so many times and it annoys them the most.
The Status Of A Draft
A few hours ago, I got a message from one of my fellow writers regarding the status of her draft. She probably wants me to check and publish the content ASAP. I am thankful to everyone who considers Write To Inspire for their stories, but please don’t bother editors with such questions.

This is not the problem of a single editor. It is the problem of everyone who is providing their services for free. Please understand that we also have families to take care of and that many of us don’t work on weekends.
Some time ago, I got messages from my fellow editors on the way aspiring writers were bothering them and wanting them to check their stories soon. This is not possible; every publication editor has their own routine. Some of them are quick at checking and accepting or rejecting a story, while others take extra time and it’s okay.
Learn To Be Patient With Publication Editors
Dear aspiring writers, I know you want your stories to be accepted soon. However, this doesn’t mean you should bother publication editors by inquiring about the status. Please understand that editors are not always free. Some of them don’t even open Medium daily, so it is obvious that they cannot guarantee quick responses and results.
I am not saying that you are disrespecting them. I am only trying to make you understand that once a story is submitted, you need to be patient. Medium’s publication editors know their work very well. They don’t need to be reminded about their job over and over again.
Publication Editors Provide Free Services
Most publication editors are providing their services for free. It takes them a lot of time to check every submission. Sometimes, they have to return pieces to the writers to make corrections and to remove plagiarized parts, and sometimes they cannot remain active on the site due to personal matters.
In my case, I return dozens of pieces to my fellow writers due to plagiarism, formatting errors, and spelling mistakes. I don’t want to reject anything, but some articles are written too poorly that I have to do so. This should not be taken personally, and aspiring writers should not bomber an editor too.
Medium is a very good platform. Here we all can grow together to earn a living. None of us should annoy others, especially our seniors and publication editors with such messages. We have to wait for an editor to check the work and get back to us. Remember that if your content is well-written and there’s no formatting/spelling error, the publication editor will happily schedule it.
