An Important Lesson I Learnt From My Dad

and how it can inspire you!

At 87 years old and 9 months (every month counts 💪🏾) dad is the first to admit he hasn’t always done the right thing and made mistakes which he can’t undo.

And he has always shared with me his sorrow about certain life choices.

However, one thing I know, dad is a visionary dad and always strives to make the best out of a situation — often at great emotional loss, which he tries to hide but I see.

Even though life hasn’t always treated him fairly, he believes that there is hope for humanity and that enough good people can make a difference.

At 87 years old and 9 months, (every month counts!) these days he infuses this hope and belief into his little patch of earth in the yard.

With the help of our cousin Denis, and when his back and legs aren’t playing him up, dad is happy as he tends to his lettuce patch and sows seeds, in the hope they will grow.

💜So, for me, seeing dad’s determination and belief that the seeds will grow and flourish, even when washed away by the heavy rains — and he and Denis have to start over, makes me smile and keeps me believing in better. 😊

Keeps me believing that peace, kindness, love and caring for each other are the tools we need to strengthen in our hearts and seats of power for a kinder, more loving society.

🌻So, today, I encourage you to pause and ponder,

“what seeds are you sowing and nurturing to build a kinder, more just world where all children and adults feel safe, cared for and tended to? “

Thank you for reading and share the seeds you are sowing in the comments so we can encourage you to keep you going.
