An Important Lesson for Success (KDP Blog: Jan 4, 2023)
Thursday is my day off, and I usually don’t work on my KDP business. However, I find it challenging to not think about it. My mind often wanders to my books, their performance, and sales.
Even on my “off” day, I occasionally lift my laptop lid to sneak a peek at my book sales.
Why do I take a day off?
I reserve Thursdays for catching up on sleep, something I often sacrifice due to early mornings spent working on my KDP and YouTube ventures. It’s also a time to accomplish personal tasks, go shopping, and visit family and relatives.
I believe a day off is vital for health and provides a refreshing reset for the week ahead. In my case, with a part-time job commitment, my week begins on Friday.
But why write articles on my day off?
Article writing is a novel activity for me, and I find it enjoyable and invigorating; it doesn’t feel like “work”. This might change as initial excitement often fades with time, as I’ve experienced with KDP and YouTube. I anticipate a similar pattern with writing.
From this, an important lesson emerges. To succeed in any venture, be it KDP or another business, you must be willing to work consistently, even when the task becomes mundane or boring.
