An Immigrants Life Always Left Unanswered And Incomplete
Coming to a city they expect aspirations to be fulfilled yet the path is new and unguided.
To grow I ventured to a city after rest in the night found work it was a hot day, and felt very thirsty on the way from work, there I saw a lake, with my hands scooped water drank twice a man said, The water has poison. I stopped neither my thirst quenched nor life was gone. This went on neither my thirst satiated nor did my comfort come home. Time said, have more patience, and patience said, give a little time.
I walked where my shelter was, saw a pump on the street, got water and drank, with anticipation. Walked to the shelter lay down on the mat and wondered, the slumber set in slowly. The chirping of birds and sunshine broke the slumber and I was at work.
The slumber was short before dawn neither I got enough sleep nor did the dreams completed, half rested I rushed to work leaving the rest I needed to earn to buy comfort, toiled to get enough to buy comfort, I realized my comforts were on my parents, now I only meet expenses at most life goes on yet it only goes on, time passes slowly always.
Time took away my childhood with the lure of youth, Now it lures me with riches I can have in the future, today.
Coming to any new place brings new challenges. Immigrants of all kinds have aspirations, and also fears they face in unknown places.
