Come again?

Goddamn it, fellas, why are you always giving us unwarranted clarification.

I’ve never reached out to someone on Instagram to explain their own post to them. Hi Clare, just to clarify, your post captioned casual-chic — means sophisticated with minimal effort. Regards.

I’ve never done that.

An ex of mine — one of the rare nice ones- popped up after 15 years to mansplain something to me. My own post.

Not, hi long time, how are you doing? I was never worthy of you. You are a queen.

No.

He sent me back my post, circled it in bold, and explained it to me because there is no way I fully understood what I posted.

I wasn't asking for clarification, just likes.

That‘s not the worst part.

My reply — which was clearly mocking him — was answered with his credentials — all thirty-four years of them. I don't know why he is still bullshitting me about his age; I never minded his younger ass, to begin with.

Ok, Captain- obvious. Even my neighbor’s cat could tell you the Middle East hasn’t been doing well.

I have to say, though, I’ve come a long way on my growth journey.

I have thanked men in the past for mansplaining things to me- out of pure confusion. But this assertive lady mock-replies now.

A message to my ex’s — a word — from the great Nene Leakes:

Don't come for me unless I come for you.
