An Eventful Evening Walk
You never know what will happen next
“The ‘crisis’ of yesterday is the joke of tomorrow.” — H.G. Wells
We spent the Fourth of July weekend with relatives in Loma Linda, California.
Several family members decided to take an evening stroll through their neighborhood. The evening air was crisp, and the temperature was pleasantly brisk.
We walked to a scenic park in close proximity to their residence. We took a break when we arrived at a vantage point with breathtaking views of the San Bernardino Mountains and the valley below. My daughter and I were captivated by the majestic beauty of the mountains as we stood there taking it all in.
A Helicopter and a Police Car
We were clicking snaps of the picturesque views when a helicopter appeared out of nowhere. We continued on our merry way, hoping the helicopter would go away.
However, the helicopter circled above our heads in wide berths for almost 20 minutes as we headed back in the direction of the house. It was almost as if it was escorting us home.
Then, at high speed, a police car darted out of a side street. The helicopter took off within a few minutes after that.
A few minutes later, my husband rang me on my mobile phone and inquired if we needed a ride home.
My nephew was apparently swimming in the backyard pool in the neighborhood when he noticed the helicopter hovering ahead and worried about our safety.
I mentioned to my husband that we were almost home and wouldn’t need a ride. Fortunately, we all made it home safely.
Check out the photos of this beautiful neighborhood, and let me know your thoughts.

Closing Thoughts
We later looked for information about the incident but could not find anything on the news via Google.
Apparently, there are many reasons why a helicopter could be circling a neighborhood, such as searching for a missing adult or child or tracking a suspect.
Is it possible to determine why a helicopter is circling a specific location? Has anyone had a similar experience? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
I would like to shout out these impressive photo stories by Mark Tulin, Barbara Radisavljevic, and Tasha R..
